How Long would it take to have Six Billion People visit your website?
I ran across this site http://www.sixbillionvisits.com the other day and it sort of interested me. Then after a little thought I realized that with just casual people going to this site it would take a very long long long time to get to zero.
* Here is a little simple math regarding this. Lets be hopeful and say that one person per second visits the site. There are roughly 31.5 million seconds a year so:
6,000,000,000 visits/31,500,000 visits per year = 187.5 years
* The website can be reloaded to forward the count, but it maxes out at about 1,000 visits per minute before getting the "CGI-limits reached, please try again!" error message. So now lets take that figure and see how long it would take:
1,000 visits/minute x 525600 minutes/year =525,600,000 visits per year.
6,000,000,000 visits/ 525,600,000 visits per year = 11.4 years.
Either way I'm going to have long forgotten this before it hits zero, but hey it peaked my interest for a second or two.
